Sunshine Coast business networking group Business Beats embraced the spirit of giving over Christmas hosting a Bunnings BBQ to raise funds for STEPS Charity.

Over two days volunteers served up hundreds of the ever popular “Bunnings snag” raising more than $4,400 to support independence for people with a disability on the Coast.

Business Beats named STEPS Charity their charity of choice in 2016 beginning a long relationship that will continue to provide important support to the charity while giving the group’s members a meaningful way to contribute to the community.

STEPS Charity Manager Angela Miles said that community partnerships with organisations like Business Beats were critical to achieving real change in the community.

“Having business and organisations like Business Beats add a fundraising component to their regular activities is an opportunity to make a real difference.”

Angela urged businesses to think about what events they were planning to host throughout the year and to consider using the event to raise funds for a charity or cause close to their heart.

“Of course we would love organisations to make STEPS Charity their charity of choice, but any fundraising that can help our community is a worthy endeavour.”

If you have an event coming up consider raising funds for STEPS Charity – your support can help create real change in our community.  Call us on 07 5458 3000.
