Lizzy’s Pet Parlour may be only 18 months old, but the pooch loving stylists have already racked up a loyal following in their home town of Bundaberg.
The business’s fast growth can be attributed to a combination of passion and creative flair with owner and animal lover Lizzy meticulous about the treatment her furry clients receive.
That’s one of the reasons why she’s so pleased with her latest recruit to the Pet Parlour team Mason, who has come on board as a school based trainee studying a Certificate II in Animal Care.
“Mason’s job is to wash and dry the animals to prepare them for grooming. It’s a very important part of the overall service we provide, if a dog isn’t washed or dried correctly the grooming suffers”, Lizzy said.
“Mason always does a great job, she’s been a natural since day one”.
Mason began working at Lizzy’s Pet Parlour after a month of work experience. She has now been with the team for 4 months and thoroughly enjoys her new job.
“I do hydro bathing and blow-drying pets for clients and love being around the animals”, Mason said.
“I love everything about my job!”.
But Lizzy hasn’t just been happy with the work of her new team member, she’s also found STEPS Employment Consultant Sheryll-lee a great helping hand.
“Sheryll- lee has been so supportive, anytime I have a question she’s there. And the wage incentives STEPS have arranged have really meant a lot to the business, especially given that we are still in our start up phase”, Lizzy said.
For Mason there are big plans on the horizon as she sets her sites on one day becoming a Veterinary Assistant.
Lizzy’s Pet Parlour is open 6 days a week providing Bundaberg locals with all of their pet grooming needs, and more!
