The CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support is a nationally recognised qualification providing you with the confidence to gain employment in a range of care and support roles.

The CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support will provide you with the qualifications to help you start an rewarding career in aged and disability care.

Delivery and Assessments

  • Delivery over 26 weeks (including 120 hours of work placement)
  • Face to face classroom delivery and practical assessment
  • Self-paced study options

The CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support is made up of 9 core units, and 6 electives for the ageing and disability specialisations.

Work Placement

  • Mandatory 120 hours of work placement
  • Monday to Friday with own transport required
  • STEPS will arrange work placement for you with reputable local employers
  • Satisfactory results of a National Police Check is required for work placement

Entry Requirements

Clients are eligible to undertake the SEE program when they meet all the following criteria:

  • Aged between 15 years and Age Pension age
  • Registered as a job seeker, including as a volunteer job seeker1
  • Deemed suitable for training without any barriers that would prevent successful participation
  • Either an Australian citizen or permanent resident or have working rights in Australia.

 

Clients are NOT eligible to undertake the SEE program if they are:

  • A full-time student at the time of referral
  • Participating in the Self-Employment Assistance (SEA); the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) or any other program advised from time to time
  • Have exited the program and are seeking a referral within three months of their last exit/program completion date, except where a client is transferring to a new provider
  • A current holder of a Skilled Migrant Visa
  • Currently a secondary visa holder of a person who holds a Skilled Migrant Visa (dependent).

 

If enrolling in an online mode, you will also require:

  • Home internet connection and computer with webcam
  • Adequate digital literacy skills to participate in online learning
  • Reside in the regions of Darwin, Alice Springs (NT), or Cairns (QLD). Check with your local office for more information.
  • Completion of a digital literacy skills assessment prior to commencement.

The Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program is fully funded by the Australian Government and free for eligible job seekers.
